The World War II Memorial and Dedication was a long time coming.
In September 2001, South Dakota paid tribute to the men and women who served their country during World War II. The patriotic and inspirational dedication ceremony features the unveiling of a permanent display to veterans of World War II on the grounds of the state capitol in Pierre. The video includes footage of the dedication ceremony, parade, speeches by dignitaries, interviews, and more.
