SDPB Radio traveled across South Dakota to research the state’s Native American heritage. This special one-hour documentary examines subjects like treaty rights, cultural survival, poverty, respect for the elders, the role of women, urban life, casinos, and the future.

 

In addition, the documentary includes several “myth buster” segments that unmask myths and misinformation about Native American culture. Listeners also will get a chance to learn some key Lakota words and phrases.
