The 1950's were a time of new inventions and new ideas. We had just defeated the Axis powers in World War II and a new medium called television was bringing the world into living rooms around the nation. It was a time of unprecedented growth in the United States and in South Dakota. Sioux Falls was booming economically, culturally and socially. Sioux Falls in the 50's, an original film produced by SDPB Television, looks at the influences and recreation that dominated the 50's, from local music to television to drive-ins, and features some prominent Sioux Falls citizens who remember the era.
