| A project of the South Dakota Symphony and Conductor Delta David Gier, and composer Brent Michael Davids, the Lakota Music Project brings together the traditional sounds of Native people and combines it with the symphonic style of a chamber orchestra. The result was a series of performances in May, 2009 at Flandreau, Sioux Falls, Mission, Pine Ridge and Rapid City. SDPB recorded the Sioux Falls performance on May 21, 2009 at the Multi-Cultural Center and presented an edited version on TV in July, 2009. The DVD will include the entire concert. |
